It was great seeing many of you at our Summer Social event a Grant Park last month. We shared some delicious food and met each other's dogs and families.

When and where are we meeting?

We will be following Covid protocols to determine whether we can meet in-person again. We are looking for meeting spaces for the winter months ahead that will allow us to use their space from about 6:30-8:30 pm once a month. In the past, we have met at Community rooms, libraries, an acupuncture school, and an architecture firm office. Please email us if you have access to a place where we could meet in person when it is safe. We expect to continue a hybrid virtual component in addition to meeting physically. If you have an ipad you'd like to donate or skills with this, please let us know!

Kick start your individual knowledge-building around sustainability measures to take today that are personally meaningful, actionable and impactful all year long.

Are you trying to live a more healthy lifestyle, save money, improve the environment or participate in community actions with others? There are so many reasons to take action. This workshop is specifically designed for individuals who are concerned about the impacts they are experiencing from climate change and to learn tools for implementing sustainability measures in their lives.

This 75 minute interactive workshop engages participants to identify sustainability measures that feel good to them, right now, and that are aligned with what they value. Join us!

Watch the July Cooking Demo with Ashwin Prabhu!

Our very own Climate Reality Leader Ashwin Prabhu, member of the Climate-Friendly Food Committee of the Portland Chapter of Climate Reality was the guest chef last month. He demonstrated a unique lima bean coconut curry from his home in the Mumbai region, where he recently relocated.

Take a look at this Climate-Friendly Indian dish and give it a try at home! The recipe can be found here. There are several local Indian stores you can find specialty items.

We have recorded cooking demos over the last 6 months, which you can see on Climate Reality's YouTube channel. Thank you Ashwin!

Feature your climate action or event!

We will be featuring different climate actions our members are involved in, and what other members can do to help. Please send us an email at climaterealityportland@gmail.com with a paragraph or two on specific actions that need support in our State, and a link to the details and a deadline. In the subject line, add "Climate Action Needed" and the topic.
Please follow this Meetup Group created, and now hosted, by Portland Climate Reality Leaders, where we will promote local climate-related events, all Climate Reality Portland Chapter events as other virtual events around Climate Change and Sustainability. If you are interested in having your event featured here as well, please email us for consideration.
