This is an important strike, gather and march in solidarity with the thousands of young people who will be striking from school in Portland and across the globe. Wear your pin if you have one, and look for our banner—but the important thing is to just show up in numbers too large to ignore and get the attention this crisis deserves.

GLOBAL CLIMATE STRIKE
From Portland Youth Climate Strike: This Friday, September 24th, is the Global Climate Strike, organized by Fridays4Future Global and worldwide climate organizations. Youth everywhere demand a livable future! We will #UprootTheSystem to get there!

Meet at 11 am. Rally at the plaza at Oregon Convention Center, corner of NE MLK and NE Holladay, next to the MAX stop. Please wear a mask. Bring signs with messages about the urgency and importance of climate action, as well as friends, family. We want to make some noise, so feel free to bring a drum or something else to bang on.

At 11:30, we march to City Hall! We’ll be marching past ODOT headquarters to tell them that climate leaders don’t widen freeways, in support of Youth vs. ODOT. (Map of the march route is below.)

We are marching in support of frontline communities and specifically young people. Adult allies are needed and appreciated. Check out the Fridays for Future website to learn more about the Global Climate Strike and to find out about other events happening around the world on Friday.
