RSVP and more details here.

GROWING GARDENS / Jason Skipton, Executive Director will speak about this local non-profit that uses the experience of growing food in schools, backyards and correctional facilities to cultivate healthy, equitable communities. Our soil is a critical and often overlooked, part of climate action. Learn how Growing Gardens is creating change with social justice at its core.

CLIMATE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS / Climate Reality Leader Lynn Merrick will discuss The SAGE Team on Climate Education which develops and offers lessons, workforce information, and service-learning opportunities for middle and high school students in order to equip students in our area with knowledge about their region’s climate action goals and solutions and to empower students to take meaningful action to achieve these goals by 2030.

THE FACES OF CLIMATE CHANGE / Climate Reality Leader Kate Gaertner & Team will share their collaborative social media project. The Faces of Climate Change Project Team is creating an interactive, visual campaign to capture individuals’ concern and growing awareness of the climate crisis, as well as to amplify what citizens are doing to take action personally in their everyday lives and politically both locally and nationally, to build resiliency and to support meaningful policies in support of climate change mitigation.

No fee to attend, but donations gratefully accepted to defray event costs.

Thank you for coming to "Passing Climate Legislation in Oregon" event.

We had a great turnout for our January 21 event! We appreciate everyone who joined us. Special thanks to OR state Senator Michael Dembrow & Rep. Karin Power talking about how we can help them pass strong and effective climate legislation in 2020 OR legislative session. And thank you to our co-hosts MCAT-OLCV and volunteers! We learned new details about the bill, and that we need to keep positively engaged during this short session.
Please follow MCAT on Facebook to stay updated on their legislative action.
