From Lynn Merrick with The Climate Reality Education Committee: A great opportunity to get involved with an innovative team serving our youth! The Climate Reality Project, Portland Chapter, Is one of several community partners in the Vision 2030 Project.
Join us for a free online event on September 2 from 12pm - 1pm to learn more about SAGE’s Vision 2030 Team.
In recent years, SAGE has grown to support innovation teams that engage many individuals and organizations to achieve a common goal that strengthens education, restores our environment and promotes economic opportunity. SAGE teams are agile and provide a structure to support creative and important initiatives that create opportunities for future generations to thrive.

This month, we’re excited to host a conversation about our Vision 2030 team, which offers a local, place-based approach to educate middle and high school students about our region’s groundbreaking efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 50 percent from 1990 levels by 2030. Together, team members have developed locally-relevant lessons on climate solutions, service-learning offerings, and information about workforce opportunities. We are also excited to partner with Portland Public Schools to offer a major Climate Careers Summit on December 2.

Highlights from our August Chapter meeting: "My Most Important Solutions to Climate Action"
Brian Ettling, Portland Chapter's Climate Legislation and Presentation Working Group Lead, is a professional Climate Change Communicator, Organizer, Writer, and Public Speaker. He highlighted the importance of contacting your members of Congress for Climate Action. As an experienced and knowledgable speaker, he provided valuable information and inspiration.
