September Actions!
Thank you to all who joined us for our Chapter meeting, it was great meeting all the new committee leads and members and hearing what they are working on. We are open to all members in our community who want to work on climate action- whether or not you have completed Climate Reality Training.
Here are some important action steps to take this month (and today)!

Plan a Presentation now for October 10-11:
Take part of the 24 Hours of Reality!
Our Chapter goal is to give 17 presentations. If you have been nervous or procrastinated on getting started, this is the time to take the first step. Marvin Pemberton and his Presentation Working Group will help new members get started. If you are registered on Reality Hub, you can find the resources to get prepared for your presentation here. Members who do not have access to the hub, you can have access to the Truth in 10 slides and help with the presentation personally. If you want more training, there is a 3 part training series available to trained Climate Leaders (FREE) that starts Saturday, Sept 19 at 10 am PST. You can register for 1, 2 or all 3 90-minute sessions. The 3rd is a practice session. It is led by master presenters and speakers. You will need to sign up today!

Get out the Vote with Vote Riders

We had quite a few people sign up to write 20 letters to voters in swing states informing them about their voter ID requirements and timelines. If you want to be included in this, we will be sending you the information in advance so will need you to email us at climaterealityportland@gmail.com so we can have those names reserved for you and send you the zoom link!

Get involved with a committee!
Our committees have formed and we will be giving a recap of each one. We have Climate Legislation, Climate Education in Schools, Business Working Group, Presentations Working Group, Climate-Friendly Food, Plastic Reduction, and Social Justice.
