Sustainable Buildings Week snuck up on us this year– we’re sorry we missed posting about it in advance! Don’t miss next year’s edition the second week in October 2025.

Here’s a taste of what happened:

Carey Booth opened her sustainable solar home in SE Portland for a tour– you can see a snapshot of her tour in this video.

The Afrofuturism Oasis, envisioned by Laquida Landford and team of AfroVillagePDX is an award-winning and visionary work in progress of how to use retiring MAX cars to meet community needs.

The closing panel, moderated by master architect and presenter Eric Corey Freed, was packed with information and energy. For a taste, check out Eric Corey Freed’s Ted Talk, encouraging us to replace “Con”struction with “Pro”struction…

If you want to delve into sustainable buildings, the next event from this group will be November 12 at 5 pm at the PAE Living Building in Portland– 151 SW 1st Ave. Tickets are free.
