Celebrate and Center
Join us at 7 pm Dec. 17 on zoom to celebrate our year of action and appreciate the time for reflection, family, and community that holidays can bring. We’ll raise a glass, talk about the past year and hopes for 2026, and events lead Katherine Fredricks will lead practices for Inner Peace.
PRACTICAL INNER PEACE:
As a cancer survivor, I know you cannot have a healthy body without a healthy environment. I know what it’s like, to take expensive and painful action to avoid a life-threatening crisis that you cannot even see. Unfortunately, between catastrophic wildfires, floods and droughts, that’s good practice for taking climate action.
I practice techniques for reducing mind/body stress every day, to more effectively fight off cancer. Those stress reduction techniques serve me well, when it comes to dealing with the stress of climate change, the stress of continued climate denial, and the stress of being demonized for speaking inconvenient truths to power.
So this holiday season, I’d like to share ancient physical and mental techniques for inner peace, from the Vedic tradition. Gaining inner peace is a practical way to deal more effectively, compassionately and joyfully with the existential climate crises we all face.
Katherine Fredricks has meditated and practiced hatha yoga and pranayama for 50 years. She certified as a yoga and meditation teacher with Deepak Chopra.
